Kite Solidarity – Where hope takes flight
Kite Solidarity empowers youth through kitesurfing projects that promote social inclusion and environmental awareness. We believe in the transformative power of kitesurfing to create a brighter future.
Launched first
Kite Solidarity Center, Bitupitá, Brazil
In November 2023, we launched our own project in the remote fishing village of Bitupitá, Brazil, where tourist infrastructure is virtually nonexistent. Despite our commitment to supporting children through our Youth & Kite Center, we face significant challenges. Donated kite materials are stored at a private home, and our education and kite safety schooling activities lack a proper facility. Establishing a dedicated center is an important next step to strengthen the sense of community and to also provide a safe haven, especially for children who face potential home challenges. Our overall objective for the Youth Center is that they not only learn essential educational skills but also learn how to take care of themselves and others.
World Champion, not only in kitesurfing
Rosa dos Ventos
The “Rosa dos Ventos Social” project was initiated in 2012 by world champion Estefania Rosa. Her amazing project joined our network in early 2024.
With a deep desire to foster a local kitesurfing community, she embarked on a journey to introduce this exhilarating sport to the children and youth of the Cauipe community, particularly focusing on empowering women. As the first female athlete from the area, Estefania aimed to inspire other girls and provide them with opportunities in kitesurfing.
Beyond the thrill of the sport, Estefania believes in the transformative power of education and, together with her husband Daniel, personally delivers most of the lessons. Currently, our educational focus is on English, but with the support of our donors, we aim to expand into Mathematics, Portuguese, basic Finance, and Law. Additionally, we plan to set up a small library to foster a love for books among children. Due to challenges in finding skilled teachers, we are also seeking tablets and computers to facilitate online learning
