Our Mission
At Kite Solidarity, our mission is twofold: to conduct our own social projects and support other sports charity initiatives that resonate with our values. The centers we endorse serve as vital meeting points and youth hubs for underprivileged children, offering not only kitesurfing lessons but also holistic educational activities. Our goal is to foster a sense of community where children not only learn self-care but also cultivate empathy and compassion towards others.
Our Vision
Central to our vision is the belief in the power of kitesurfing tourism to effect positive change in local communities. We seek to revive the ethos of mutual assistance within the kitesurfing community, urging travelers to recognize and address the disparity between optimal wind conditions and poor living conditions in many destinations. Through mentorship and empowerment, we strive to instill in children a passion for kitesurfing alongside a sense of environmental responsibility.
Our PHILOSOPHY
At Kite Solidarity, our philosophy revolves around the principle of giving and receiving. Through essential sports equipment, financial donations, and English lessons, we empower individuals for success. When you volunteer with us, you not only drive meaningful change but also receive complimentary kite lessons, equipment, and repairs. Additionally, you gain access to free Portuguese classes, accommodation, dining, and the opportunity to win prizes. By being part of our unique kitesurfing solidarity community, your involvement enriches children’s lives and fosters social impact.
Our Story
In November 2023, our journey began when Mischa, on a downwinder from Jeri to Bitupita, encountered an unexpected moment—a crashed kite with a broken valve and bar. Seizing the opportunity to make a positive impact, Mischa provided the equipment to the community. Two days later, upon returning to Bitupita on a downwinder with his friend Marc, he discovered a remarkable sight—the locals had not only repaired the kite but were actively flying it. Witnessing the passion and resourcefulness of the community, especially as they were instructing two younger children in kite-flying, ignited the spark that would become the Kite Solidarity Association. Marc, moved by this experience, decided spontaneously to also donate his kite, and soon after, he became a co-founder of Kite Solidarity From that moment, our mission to empower the children through kitesurfing, and community development, took flight.
